Who’s My Good Boy?

Inheriting my estranged father’s shares at a company he co-owned with his best friend’s son brings war to my doorstep. An office war. Especially when that broody co-owner challenges my every decision and move.
I’m tired of being alone with no one to vent to. No parents. No family. Love life nonexistent.
My insane best friend suggest I get a puppy. A laughable idea, really, when I barely have time to breathe, nevermind care for a puppy. Still, off to The Pound I go, best friend in tow. Window shopping never hurt anyone, right?
One by one, I visit each cage. One by one, I dismiss them all.
And then I see him: long, hard tail. Soft, dark fur. And a growl that has my skin pebbling.
My perfect puppy.

My fingers are itching to find out what hides under that mysterious German Shepherd mask: my puppy or a wolf. But somehow I just know... Out of the two of us, I’ll be the one howling.
